Overview
‘Out Of Season’ is a soap opera set in the fictional seaside town Cliffside, a working class, close-knit community. The soap focuses mainly on the towns Secondary School and 6th form, ‘Cliffside High’ and portrays a realistic narrative based around the students and teachers lives - via family and friend relations the soap also explores other influential and important community figures. The main object of the Soap Opera is to show a realistic view of the tourist towns and what their like out of season.

- Charlotte = A Countertype, a clever girl with strict parents who is lost between a world her friends and a world with her family.
- Izzie = the stereotypical Popular Pretty Girl.
- Ella = The stereotype from soap operas of a troubled young woman
- Maisie = the stereotypical higher class girl ‘snob’
- Brad = the stereotypical Heart-throb and Jack the Lad
- Sam = the stereotypical sidekick of the Heart-throb and Jack the Lad
- Smithy = the stereotypical teenage youth – meddles with crime and drugs
· The Teachers
- Mr Johnson = a kind and wise older teacher
- Mr James = the stereotypical middle-aged strict teacher
- Mr Bretnall = a young and intelligent teacher, wanting to work his way up
- Mrs Sharpe = the strong female stereotype – middle aged, head teacher
- Miss Loval = the newest teacher – a young, pretty teacher finding her ‘feet’.
- Ms. Kien = the stereotypical teacher. However, nobody knows anything about her private life.
· Members of The Community
- Paul = stereotypical entrepreneur (middle-aged and career driven) – owns The Submarine and the BeachCafé!
- Jenny = stereotypical single mum trying to make it work – manages The Submarine
- Becca = stereotypical young chav who is given a chance at work by Paul
- Dora = oldest member of the community who works at the BeachCafé!
